Bear Crawl Your Way To A Stronger Core

Posted on March 18th, 2021 to Barefoot Training

Whether you know it or not, building a strong and stable core should be at the top of your training protocol. When it comes to training your core, there are better and more efficient ways than the traditional sit ups and crunches.

One of the best ways to build a bulletproof core is adding anti-rotation exercises into your routine. Anti-rotation involves keeping your core (abdominal section) engaged while a force is acting upon it that is actively trying to rotate it. In other words, you are actively trying to prevent rotation from happening.

Bear crawls and the crawl stance in general is a phenomenal way to train anti-rotation. Crawling involves getting on all fours and not letting your knees touch the ground. Basically, your knees are hovering over the ground throughout the duration of the movement.
