30 Days of Deadlifts Day 28: Speed = Technique A popular approach to improving the deadlift is to utilize the concept of “speed” work. The idea is to get faster to help you get stronger. I like to call it TECHNIQUE work, because it allows trainees to use a weight that emphasizes pristine form and to be able to “own” positions in order to better express strength. So whether you call is speed work or technique work the end goal is the same.
After the KB warm-up, the workout leads off with Sumo Deadlifts so I figured I would also pay tribute to Tony Gentilcore's recent 30 Days of Deadlifts series. The above clip is an awesome knowledge nugget about speed and technique.
The loads are a bit light in the workout below because my intention was to feel good post workout and mitigate the chance of any unnecessary soreness.
