Let's be honest, spending 15 minutes on a warm up requires way too much focus and energy.
If you are like me, you likely don't enjoy "wasting" your valuable workout time for a warm up. What's so wrong with just getting to the meat and potatoes, so we can get on with our day?
Of course, there are a few staple things that I actually do before my workout. A quick foam roll, some basic mobility drills that focus on the hips and back (cat-cow, 90/90, and t-spine), and MAYBE some skipping.
What if I told you that in exactly 6 minutes this workout will get you adequately and efficiently warmed up, while also improving athletic performance? This certainly sounds like something I would sign up for. Furthermore, it requires no equipment and there is no learning curve or a way to screw it up other than not giving it your all. Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce you to "wall wrestling".
Your goal is to move in multiple planes and push as hard as you can for 30 seconds (just like a wrestling match). Rest for 90 seconds and repeat 3 times. Check out the video below of one of my sets.
Ditch Your Shoes,
Mike
